This clip is used to hold the lifting string to the metal rod inside the top rail of the blind or shade that the lifting strings roll up on. It is used on pleated, cellular, and honeycomb shades, roman shades, 1" mini blinds, and 2" wood faux wood blinds with a cordless lift or a cord loop lift.
