This wand tilter was used by 3 Day Blinds (Transitions), Joanna, Hunter Douglas, Kirsch, and American Blind Factory in 2" horizontal wood blinds with a high profile headrail that measures 2" by 2 1/4" with a 1/4" square-shaped tilt rod. It is no longer manufactured and is not available for purchase. This tilt mechanism was used around 1996 and earlier.
We carry a compatible replacement tilt mechanism. The new part looks different than the original tilt mechanism but is a compatible replacement and will fit in your blinds.
To be sure that the replacement tilt mechanism will work in your blinds, check to see if the stem that hangs down from the tilt mechanism fits into a rectangular punch in the headrail of the blinds. Your blinds must have a rectangular punch to use the replacement tilt mechanism.
The end of the shaft on this part has an eyelet hole. It requires a tilt wand with a specific metal wire and plastic cap on the end of it for proper attachment. This wand is compatible: W-04-CLEAR.
It has a 1/4" square hole on both sides of the part, and has a stepped foot that fits into both 3/4" and 1" headrail punches. The punch is the rectangular cut out where the shaft of the tilt mechanism sticks through the bottom of the headrail.
The replacement mechanism twists the opposite way of most others. When the wand is twisted clockwise, the gear inside the mechanism moves counter-clockwise. This means that you may have to twist the wand in the opposite direction than you’re used to when opening or closing the slats on your blind.
White plastic body and silver metal shaft and gears.
