Gustav Klimt 1862 - 1918 Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter, whose primary subject was the female body. His popular painting "Country Garden with Sunflowers" was done between 1905 and 1907 and is one of only a few floral paintings Klimt produced. It is a beautiful tapestry of colorful flowers, sunflowers and greenery executed in his contemporary Art Nouveau style which was influenced by the organic forms of the early Arts and Crafts movement.
